Answers Pet Food Veterinary Executive Program
In 2020 Answers launched a Veterinary Executive Program as an opportunity to learn more about fermented raw feeding, nutrition and science. Developed as a series of comprehensive interdisciplinary classes, lectures and recommended diet protocols intended to enhance the medical and nutritional knowledge of veterinarians. This branch of knowledge is concerned with the diet and its effects on pet health, especially with the practical application of a scientific understanding of fermented raw feeding. With this understanding, veterinarians are able to better meet the challenges of health-related issues by utilizing proper species-appropriate diets.
Interview with Dr. Katie Kangas
Billy had the opportunity to sit down with Dr. Katie Kangas and discuss her view on joining the program earlier this year and her success in prescribing Answers Pet Food to her patients.
Why did you join Answers Pet Food Executive Veterinary Program?
I focus on nutrition and food medicine as a core part of my treatment strategy for all animal patients – in both addressing chronic disease patterns and in preventative wellness plans. Therefore, fresh foods are part of my “prescription” list for all patients, and Answers’ foods are an exceptional option – which we provide at our practice.
How do you utilize their specialty training?
This training enables myself and my veterinary practice team to better educate our clients as to the benefits that fresh, raw and fermented foods can bring to the health of their pets. Answers has an impressive amount of science behind their food products and the specifics in creating their formulas, nutrient ratios etc.
Staff training is key for us to understand and relay this value to our clients. There is also much information on how to use Answers foods in specific protocols to support various health issues. This type of training enables us to make more specific, individualized recommendations – so that our patients achieve greater health success.
What results have you obtained with your clients using Answers Pet Food?
Improved overall vitality and energy levels, digestion and gastrointestinal health, and immune system function. Evidence showed diminished symptoms or resolution of allergic skin disease, ear infections, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and similar immune-related conditions. Our patients experienced an improved overall skin condition, and even shrinkage or resolution of some types of skin masses. Patient results had better weight management – both for underweight or overweight pets. Answers diet protocol has given excellent support for cancer patients with decreased appetite, low body weight and/or muscle atrophy. Answers raw milk/dairy provides a “complete meal” option in a palatable liquid. Fermentation creates hydrolyzed amino acids, which increases absorption and access for assimilation into the body’s tissues.
